Only a Dream

I'm back from my trip..so an update. The trip was relaxing for the most part, so I had time to reflect on my life and other shit. I have returned with kind of a bad mood for no real reason than I can tell except for actually having to be back here. I've got a bunch of work to do at my job and everywhere else but that's not the whole reason. I'm stressed out about a lot of things. So i guess I just don't want all work no fun. I realize a vacation is time off, but I need more than that to deal with the everyday bullshit that keeps occuring. It's ironic how you think things are going well, and then *wham* *bam* something comes in to screw your happiness over. I might update later.

It's my fourth day updating in a row.YAY!
Today was my Mom's birthday, and she and I went to church. This was the last Sunday my pastor will be here for a whole 3 months! He and his wife are going on what is called a Sabbatical, where they travel to different churches in different countries and stuff. I'm kinda sad, because I'm actually really good friends with my pastor. He's really a down to earth human guy who doesn't think he's better than everyone else just because he's a pastor, which is extremely cool.
In other news I went to King Soopers three times today. Twice was for youth group, because we went to get ice blocks, to go ice block sledding on the hill by my high school. My friend and I also went back to Kings, because we thought it would be nice to get soda for everyone in the group. My butt is still sopping wet.
In other news, I have again temporarily misplaced the *amazing* starbucks mints. I will find them though, they are somewhere around here. *scratches her head*
I leave for my trip on Tuesday so I have to get everything done tommorow, including my cd player for my car (yea!) and my music lessons( I haven't really had much time to practice, I've been gone all the time. And of course to buy tapes to record my dun dun dun... soap operas and dun dun dun.... California Dreams. Yes, I know it's a little much, but I'm a telly-o-holic! Some people are obssessed with the internet, but the telly is my obssession.
ANIME I HAVE WATCHED SO FAR TODAY: Episodes 5 & 6 of the 1st season of English subtitled/Japanese spoken, Sailormon.
In other news, it was weird not to talk to Jessa tonight. She is on her vaction and I hope she is having fun, but i miss her! She should know she is loved.
I watched the Rockies today AND THEY WON!!! There was an hour and a half rain delay,(which I took a little nap during, lol). I was happy for the starting pitcher Darren Oliver, who got the win. Gotta love the guy! I was also suprised when a utility player named Greg Norton, made a nice play defensively at first base when he did the splits to catch a throw from another infielder. He is no young pup either, mind you.
People keep telling me to update my blog, but now they probably want me shut up as much as I've been rambling..I'm doing a very unNikki like thing and telling you: TOO BAD YOU ASKED FOR IT!
:D
Some other interesting stuff from youth group included Caleb's 8 Mile Gangsta hat(lol), Dylan's continued reference to the time "quiet, little Nikki" lost her temper on the Mexico trip, Logan (The "invisible man) actually being there, Anthony and his Mountain Dew inflatable jet thing, Dylan saying Keir looked like "Enrique Iglaisias"(lol), and plans for the upcoming lock-in.
Now for the to-do list/ list of goals I made last night. I'm hoping posting them here will actually make me do them. I got to go get them, and take a potty break, so I'll be right back.... I'm back, so back to business, here they are:
- Clean up My Room: My room is beyond bad, and I am not exaggerating at all. I need to take the time and get it clean before school starts.
- Invest in a cool Journal: For all the private stuff I can't write here. All my other ones have so much old shit, I just want to start fresh.
- Practice my voice lesson material more: I have not been at my house much with searching for a car, going out, work, church, and hanging with friends etc., but I NEED to make more time for this!
- Learn to Drive Better: I now have my car and my license, but I am still not a very experienced driver, therefore I am going to continue to work with my parents on my driving, so my friends and whoever else rides in my car with me, feels more comfortable, and is actually allowed to ride with me.
- Stop worrying so Much!: All the people who care about me are constantly telling me to stop worrying about everything, so I have decided to come up with some relaxing stop worrying strategies that hopefully will help.
- Work out more often: With my schedule being so hectic lately, I haven't had time to work out very much, and that has to change because working out makes me look and feel so much better.
- Become thicker-skinned/more independent: People who know me know that I am very sensative, and I will always be somewhat sensative and need other people, but I need to start doing more stuff on my own, standing up to my own beliefs, and basically stop getting my feelings hurt so easily. When people who care about me crack jokes and stuff, they are just kidding around with me, not trying to hurt my feelings. I really need to remind myself of this stuff....
Those are my goals as of now, so now onto the last part of this entry, my relaxing worry relief strategies so far. This is also connected to me becoming less sensative.
STRATEGIES:
- Kick back and watch a little Anime
- Realizing that someone is not mad at you, just because they haven't seen talked to you in a little while, and that unless you left things with them in a bad way, they aren't mad untill they tell you otherwise..basically to ease off a little of my paranoia problems...
- Journaling and Blogging
- Excercising
- Singing along with songs on the radio for fun
- Realizing that worrying about stuff is not going to change anything
- Taking things one day, even one hour if necessary, at a time, instead of worrying about the future
- Talking stuff out with my friends. Like Jessa, who always lets me vent to her. Thank you Jessa!
- Stop saying yes to everything! Noone can do everything!
- Read my "Self Matters" book by Dr. Phil. You can say what you want, but the man has a lot of common sense!
- Tell people if they are doing something that bothers me, or anything else for that matter. Basically, I want to be more upfront.
- Get Organized, which will help me plan my time better and be less stressed, cranky, etc.
- Realize that I can't control anyone else but myself.
- Stop procrastinating and just get the things that are a pain in the ass out of the way. This will help with the worrying, stress and everything else for that matter.
Now that I am done with all that, I am off to do something productive or relaxing! Whew! *Gazes at the hella long blog entry and sighs*
Bye for now! :D
It's late..I'm somewhat tired..My head really hurts...so I guess it's a perfect time to update.
*gives herself mad props for updating three days in a row!(it is still saturday whether the computer says so or not)*
In the big news the gardener(otherwise known as my mother) is having a birthday tommorow! Happy Birthday Mom! I got her a card, socks with rabbits on them, and this expensive perfume she likes.
I got to drive my car to the mall, since they have changed me on the insurance so I am legal to drive. Mom came with me though, so she could pick out some stuff.
I also got to show my car to my aunt, uncle, and cousins, when we went to pick my grandpa up.
They all said it was really cool. I can't wait untill they install the cd player!
I also went to work today, where more people got to see my car. (I'm not trying to sound cocky about my car...it's just really exciting when you get your first car!)
The *amazing* cinammon starbucks mints have resurfaced! Yea Baby!
I watched most of the Rockies game with my grandpa. It proved only to provide us with another discouraging loss. What's even sadder is that we still love 'em and will still watch 'em. And I will NEVER quit stalking Walt Weiss and thinking he should be manager!
I watched an episode of South Park from 1998 and The Man Show, tonight, which were actually pretty funny. I missed my beloved Mad Tv, but it was for a good cause, as I was talking to Jessa who is leaving on vacation tommorow.
My youth group may be going to the drive in movies tommorow, after our meeting at church. I will probably go if they decide to, but who knows.
I'm getting tired so perhaps I'll head to bed soon.
Au Revoir
